About CIA
CIA was formed in September, 1987, with a goal to reach every aerobics instructor in the United States. Greg Twombly, founder, owner and an active aerobics instructor,
knew that aerobics instructors needed continuing education to stay abreast of what was happening in the aerobic industry.
Based on the premises that many aerobics instructors were unable to attend weekend workshops and seminars either due to scheduling or location, learning by video presented an easy and affordable method for these instructor to keep up with new trends.
CIA developed four videos annually which contained four or five 25-minute segments, each on a particular component of an aerobics class e.g., warm-up, low-impact moves, floorwork etc. These videos, which featured some of the top aerobics professionals in the country, included Greg Twombly provided choreography, and other ideas for teaching interesting and motivating classes.
CIA has now grown and expanded and in 1989 started producing consumer workout videos and extra long workout videos. In 1994, CIA began releasing five videos per
year for its new instructor training series. In 1996 CIA began producing 10 videos per year.
With the goal of producing quality informational videos well in hand, CIA plans to expand into other areas such as injury and rehabilitation videos, public information and aerobics program guideline videos, pre and post-natal videos, motivational videos for drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers and certification videos. As aerobics and
exercise classes become more widespread and refined, CIA's ultimate goal is to provide videos which address the training and exercise needs of these various audiences.
